The AI Council

A panel of AI portfolio managers with different philosophies, debating your actual holdings and ending in prioritized proposals.

The AI Council is a panel of AI portfolio managers you can consult about your portfolio. Each has a distinct investing philosophy — written down as a persona you can read and edit, not hidden inside a prompt.

Available on the Pro and Ultimate tiers.

Why a panel and not one chatbot

Ask a single AI what to do with your portfolio and you get a confident answer shaped by however you happened to phrase the question. Ask three with genuinely different philosophies — a growth-minded one, a patient value one, a quality-compounder one — and you get the argument instead. Where they agree, where they don't, and why.

That argument is the product. A conclusion that survives three hostile readings is worth considerably more than the first plausible answer.

Running a session

From the AI → AI Council page:

  1. Write a prompt — a question, an idea you're weighing, or pick a template like a monthly portfolio review.
  2. Choose what it's grounded on — one account, a group of them, or everything.
  3. Convene. The panel debates across multiple rounds until it converges on a satisfaction threshold or hits the round limit you set.
  4. Read the synthesis. A synthesizer writes up the result as prioritized actions — trim this, research that — each with its reasoning and a priority level.

The session records what it was grounded on and whether that data was fresh at the time, so a recommendation built on stale holdings says so.

Grounded in your actual book

Council sessions are injected with facts about what you really hold — positions, weights, portfolio-level metrics — from your synced or imported data. It isn't reasoning about the market in the abstract; it's reasoning about your book, at its current weights, with your concentration.

Your panel, your models

  • Personas are editable. Each manager's philosophy is a document you can rewrite — adjust its risk tolerance, sharpen its style, or add a new persona. Every edit is versioned, so you can see what changed and roll it back.
  • You choose the provider. The Council runs on whichever AI provider you configure. Provider connectivity is visible in Admin & diagnostics, including an opt-in deep check that round-trips a real request.
  • No provider? It still runs — and says so. With nothing configured, the Council falls back to a deterministic stand-in that is clearly labeled simulated. You will never be shown a canned response dressed up as a live model.

Where it stops

A Council recommendation is a proposal. There is no path from "the panel recommends trimming this" to an order being placed — acting on it goes through you, and then through the same reconcile and approval loop as everything else.

The panel's job is to make you a better decision-maker, not to replace you as one.
